KEP Bluetone Overdrive Pedal – Bluesbreaker KOT Style Overdrive

The KEP Bluetone Overdrive Pedal is based on the classic Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal, including many of the modifications used in Analogman’s King of Tone (KOT) pedal.

In addition to Analogman’s mods, I have also included a couple of my own modifications to allow for a bit more gain. I also increase the size of the input capacitor for a balanced tone. The KEP Bluetone Overdrive does contain an internal presence knob that allows the user to to tweak the overall response of the tone control.

The external toggles allows the user to engage the hard clipping diodes, the soft clipping diodes, both sets of clipping diodes, or neither set of clipping diodes. I use NOS 1S1588 diodes (KOT / POT values) in the hard clipping circuit and BAS33 (similar to the MAS856 diode) in the soft clipping circuit.

This pedal was built using quality components including a genuine JRC4580 opamp and Lumberg power/input/output jacks. This effects pedal is true bypass with a low noise, reliable, soft touch relay bypass and was built in a quality 1590b sized metal enclosure (4.43 inches x 2.38 inches).
