KEP KA2A Optical Limiter Pedal

The KEP KA2A Optical Limiter is based on a circuit designed by Steve Bartlett (Bajaman).  Mr. Bartlett designed this circuit after tracing the popular Demeter Compulator.  He was disappointed that the Compulator did not function like the famed LA2A Limiter, and that the Compulator was a compressor.  This disappointment led Mr. Bartlett to design an optical limiter circuit, combining components from the Demeter Compulator but designing the circuit to perform just like the famed Teletronix LA2A Limiter.  This pedal is a limiter, in that it derives it’s control signal from the INPUT of the circuit.  For more information about Mr. Bartlett’s circuit, please see his post on freestompboxes.org here.

KEP KA2A pedals are built with quality components including quality Lumberg jacks and Cusack potentiometers. This pedal is true bypass utilizing a low noise, reliable, soft touch relay bypass system. This pedal is built in a 1590b (4.425″ L x 2.382″ W) sized enclosure.
