KEP TS2134 Overdrive Pedal – Clay Jones Style Overdrive

The KEP TS2134 Overdrive Pedal is a handmade overdrive pedal built around the Clay Jones Overdrive circuit with Jack Orman’s Son of Screamer modification applied — the input and output buffers removed, following a design by Fred Briggs (La Revolution Deux). Built in a durable 1590B enclosure (4.425″ L x 2.382″ W) with a premium OPA2134 op-amp, professional 3PDT stomp switch, and Neutrik jacks. Hand-soldered, true bypass.

Once assembled, each pedal is played through a looper pedal for several hours before it ships to confirm reliable, consistent performance. This is an independent build based on a publicly documented circuit design, not affiliated with Clay Jones or Fred Briggs.

The Clay Jones Overdrive Story:

The original Clay Jones Overdrive was a mythologized, limited run of about 50 units that later sold for $1,500+ on the secondhand market.[1] The DIY building community widely concluded the circuit was closely derived from the Landgraff Dynamic Overdrive, itself a Tube Screamer variant.[2] Fred Briggs (of La Revolution Deux) later applied Jack Orman’s “Son of Screamer” buffer-removal modification to the circuit, documenting it as the “Son of a Clay Jones Overdrive.”[3]
