Description:  The KEP TS4558 Overdrive Pedal is a handmade overdrive pedal modeled after the Ibanez Tube Screamer circuit, built in a durable 1590B enclosure (4.425″ L x 2.382″ W). The input and output buffers are removed, following Jack Orman’s (AMZ) Son of Screamer modification — the same buffer-removal approach used in Lovepedal’s Eternity Overdrives. JRC4558 op-amp, professional 3PDT stomp switch, Neutrik jacks. Hand-soldered, true bypass, built for reliable daily use.

The Tube Screamer Story:

Designed in 1979 by Ibanez/Maxon engineer Susumu Tamura, who didn’t play guitar himself, the Tube Screamer became one of the most copied circuits in pedal history.[1] Stage photos and equipment records show Stevie Ray Vaughan primarily used a TS9 (not the TS808) from 1982 through most of the ’80s.[2] The Edge, John Mayer, Gary Moore, Trey Anastasio, and Joe Bonamassa have also used Tube Screamers.[3]
