KEP Scarsdale Overdrive Pedal – Klon Style Overdrive
The KEP Scarsdale Overdrive is a faithful recreation of the legendary Klon Centaur pedal built by Bill Finnegan. This pedal is based on the trace and schematic completed by Martin Chittum (with the assistance of many members of the freestompboxes.org forum) in 2009. In these builds I use 1N34A germanium diodes as Mr. Finnegan reportedly used in the original pedal. I do test each diode before soldering to ensure it has an approximate forward voltage of .35v on a Peak Atlas Component Analyzer (the forward voltage on the pedal traced by Martin Chittum).
This pedal was built in a 1590bb (4.7″ W x 3.7″ H) enclosure with quality components including Lumberg jacks, Pro 3pdt Stomp Switch, and Stomp / Cusack potentiometers.
